2-Week Unit Plan - Lines, Angles, and TrianglesThis two week unit plan introduces the fundamentals of geometry beginning with angles and transitioning to triangles. They will make discoveries about parallel lines and transversals. They will also begin to explore the Pythagorean Theorem. There will be hands-on activities and an emphasis on working with partners to allow students to verbalize their explorations.

Lesson PresentationThis is the introduction to this lesson. I will use this Prezi presentation to guide students through the ideas that they've expand on in the lesson activity. The students will follow along with the presentation with some lecture notes and also make notes in their math journals. The students will be prompted to consider questions throughout the presentation to promote active engagement and discussion.

Lesson Documents and Links
This links to a specific page on angles from Math Open Reference. We'll use this page as a digital resource that students can use in class or at home that will provide further insight into the operation of angles by manual manipulating the angle and getting feedback.

This is the worksheet that accompanies our hands-on activity called the Tear It Up Experiment. Students will be able to physically manipulate a paper triangle model to then measure its angles and discover some truths about triangles.
